Location:

From the North From the A1 leave at the junction for Tynemouth, A19, Tyne Tunnel and join the A19. Follow signs for the Tyne Tunnel. Continue on through Tyne Tunnel. From A19 join the A185 Jarrow Road. Join the A194 Jarrow Road and continue following signs for South Shields town centre. At the traffic lights turn left into Beach Road (A183) Follow road to roundabout and take the 1st left into Anderson Road (A183). Straight over at the mini roundabout. At the next roundabout (Asda) turn right into Ocean Road. The Atlantis is the first guest house on your left.

From the South

From the A1 leave at Junction 65 and join the A194(M) signposted Tyne Tunel, S Shields. After 3.7 miles take the 2nd exit off the roundabout onto A194 Leam Lane. Continue on the A194 following signs for South Shields town centre. At the traffic lights turn left into Beach Road (A183) Follow road to roundabout and take the 1st left into Anderson Road (A183). Straight over at the mini roundabout. At the next roundabout (Asda) turn right into Ocean Road. The Atlantis is the first guest house on your left

All rooms have en-suite facilties, satelite television with DVD player, central heating, tea and coffee facilties and double glazed windows. We have a variety of smoking and non smoking rooms available all year round.

Atlantis Guest House - South Shields Surrounding Area Ocean Beach Pleasure Park Visiting the seaside is not complete with out a trip to the funfair. Ocean Beach Pleasure Park has lots of rides and amusements for all ages with a variety of new rides, traditional roundabouts and kids rides.

History of South Shields

South Shields is rich with history and heritage. Arbeia Roman Fort recreates the Roman history of the area and is located behind the guest house while maritime heritage is celebrated at Souter Lighthouse. South Shields Museum and Art Gallery is also a must to vsit during your stay.

South Tyneside is the setting for many of the writers famous books. The area hosts the free Cookson Festival in June, July and August promising free family fun and entertainment including live music, brass bands, old time music hall and street theatre.
