General: Montenegro,
officially the Republic of Montenegro, is a country
located in southeastern Europe. It has a coast
on the Adriatic Sea to the south, and borders
Croatia to the west, Bosnia and Herzegovina to
the northwest, Serbia to the northeast and Albania
to the southeast. Its capital is Podgorica.
Currency: The euro (currency
sign: €; banking code: EUR) is the official
currency of the European Union member states of
Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece,
Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal
and Spain, also known as the Eurozone. Slovenia
is scheduled to join the Eurozone in 2007. It
is the single currency for more than 300 million
people in Europe.
Language: The Serbian
language is one of the standard versions of the
Štokavian dialect, used primarily in Serbia,
Montenegro, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and
by Serbs everywhere. The former standard is known
as Serbo-Croatian language, now split into Serbian,
Croatian and Bosnian standards.
